I want the A string on my cello to have a mellower sound. What string should I use?

I currently use evah pirrazi for the D, G, and C strings, but the A string is a Larsen (medium). My teacher recommended that I change strings, but I don't know which one could get rid of that "piercing" sound it has, especially when I play really high notes.
