Christians: Do you find the lives of "Saints" interesting to learn about?

I am a non-denominational Christian too but I was heavily influenced by the Catholic parents of a childhood friend, more the father than the mother. He recently ped away and his life will never be found in a book. It was just as powerful as any story of any saint. I look back on the way he behaved and acted toward others and it was through him that I learned what being a Christian means. He would do things for Jewish neighbors who observed their Sabbaths, he would visit people in hospitals, founded a rescue squad in NJ, always had a cheerful, friendliness that made people around him comfortable. He was always quick to give praise to God through Jesus. So I guess the point of this is to say yeah, I do think a saint's life is important. But it's important to the lives he/she touches while living more so than anything other people write in a book about them. I suppose if you find inspiration in their stories, of course it would be interesting. I'm not familiar with the lives of the specific saints but if you have any doubt as to the source of their influence simply compare what you know about the Word to the way they applied it to their lives and you can get a good idea of whether it was good or bad. Hope this helps. : )
