Why did Obama vote to prosecute people who use guns to defend themselves?

Good thing this topic is the least of my worries. I'm voting for Obama to better the economy and the country, not whether Billy can keep his ault rifle. Also go to his website, where he says he will protect the right to carry arms and supports the 2nd ammendment.
