Does anyone have a story where there was a funny misunderstanding?

At a very busy party i was joking around with a friend of mine and i said in what i thought was a mild, humorous tone "man fat chicks just dont get it!" Strangely enough, the most gorgeous woman there thought i was talking about her and when she turned to me and asked me to repeat what i had just said, i was stupid enough to grant her request! I was promptly slapped in the face in front of everyone and i swear i heard a record scratch in the backround with a simultaneous gasp from the entire place! All i could do was laugh!
