If I manufacture souvenirs of the statue of liberty or empire state building, is there any copyright issue?

I don't know much about law, but I am curious if there is any legal barrier to using national or sate icons like the golden gate bridge, the grand canyon, statue of liberty etc. Do I need permission from anyone to make and sell such souvenirs providing that I use original photographs, drawings, or models. I am looking for an answer from a legal standpoint, using laymens terms.
