PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) question?

I was diagnosed with PCOS by ultrasound a couple of years ago, my only symptom was I had no periods. In the last 4 mnths I have had 4 periods like clockwork - does this mean the ovaries have sorted themselves out - or I didn't have it in the first place? I am not on any medication, or changed the way I eat etc - if anything I have become more unhealthy!
